Oakland Airport Noise Alert 9/22-9/25

As part of the Taxiway W Rehabilitation Project the Port of Oakland will be closing the intersection of Taxiway W and Taxiway U on Friday, September 22, 2023, through Monday, September 25, 2023. During this time, departure and arrival patterns will change as follows:

All corporate and business jet departures and arrivals will occur on North Field and most commercial jet departures will be from the North Field. Commercial jet arrivals will be on the main runway in the South Field.  As a result, Aircraft will overfly residential areas and residents may experience unusual aircraft noise.  The Port of Oakland apologizes in advance for any disturbances. Aircraft noise concerns may be directed to Noise Hotline at 510-563-6463.

This closing of the intersection of Taxiway W and Taxiway U on Friday, September 22, 2023, through Monday, September 25, 2023.is making getting sleep impossible. We need sleep due to medical recovery requirements We strongly object to your scheduling this work for all hours. Please reschedule.

I’d like to see the North Field Runway closed to departures. It is misused by Jet aircraft on a.daily basis. The Oakland Airport apologizes. Noise abatement is voluntary?!? If not close the North field then limit its usuage. NO DEPARTURES 10pm to 7am. Long Beach airport does this. Doing nothing is not acceptable.

This isn’t just for this time frame, this is ALL THE TIME. It’s constant and draining, as I’m one block down from the HB Ferry. Can’t keep a window open. Who knew when I moved here in 1991 and the airport was: OAKLAND MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, that everything would change for the worse. And now with the airport expansion…Florida is starting to look better and better….
