We’d like to share with you that a settlement agreement has been reached through negotiation between CLASS, the City of Alameda, and the Port of Oakland (OAK airport). The settlement agreement may be reached at the link below. The 3000 homes in the Community of Harbor Bay were able to preserve all existing previous agreements and now have a renewed agreement which promotes future interaction with SFO in order to try to further optimize the airspace shared by OAK and SFO. This has the potential to push departing aircraft further into the bay which reduces noise and pollutants. Approximately 1/3 of the daytime departing jets now turn 6 degrees left which results in a 3dB drop in noise heard by CHBI residents. Additional changes of this type will take some time, but continued effort by CLASS and the City of Alameda will be necessary. Please continue to send in your complaints as no complaints mean there is no problem.
