Opportunity to voice your noise concerns to FAA – Noise Forum Meeting 10/21

Hello Dear Neighbors and subscribers,

CLASS would like to share an opportunity with you to voice your concerns regarding the HUSSH departures procedures. As you may know, OAK HUSSH night time noise abatement departure procedures, as part of the FAA’s NextGen program, replaced the prior SILENT night time noise abatement procedures with a GPS based one.  However, the resulting new route under HUSSH is closer to our BayFarm island, bringing additional noise for night departures.  To revert the noise level to the prior NextGen project, CLASS has been pushing the FAA and other stakeholders to consider moving the new route further away from our residential area by adjusting the turning point.  We’ve made several valid proposals to FAA but the progress has been very slow and even stalled during the past 3 years. We learned that FAA Regional Administrator, Raquel Girvin, plans to provide an update on the status of HUSSH departures at the upcoming Oakland Airport Noise Forum, which will be held on next Wed, Oct 21, 6:30-8:30 PM.  We’d like to encourage you to make your voice heard directly to them by attending the meeting and make verbal comments.  If you can’t make it, we encourage you to send written comments before the meeting so that it will be forwarded and announced at the meeting.   Click here for a detailed meeting agenda and instructions.

Thank you so much for your support

All the best

CLASS
